The Doveland Charity Foundation has relaunched its operations for 2025 in Abuja with a renewed focus on providing support through education, economic empowerment and skills development.
The foundation’s revitalised mission aims to address pressing social challenges through sustainable, community-driven projects.
Operating under the theme ‘Planting seeds of change, Growing a legacy of Impact,’ the Foundation is committed to empowering vulnerable groups in Nigeria, specifically widows, orphans and indigent citizens.
By fostering self-sufficiency and imparting dignity and hope, the Doveland Charity Foundation aims to create a lasting legacy of positive change throughout the nation.

In her opening address, the founder of the foundation, Mrs Justina Ulunnma Chukwu, said, “We are here today to reaffirm that there is no room for surrender. We are here to remind ourselves to look after one another, because I believe that is the purpose for which God created us.
No matter what we have achieved or how far we have come, there is always someone who needs a helping hand. There are so many out there who need support, far more than any one person, or even ten, can reach alone. That is why our focus remains on leadership empowerment, skills acquisition, and scholarship opportunities for our students.”

On the sustainability of the charitable foundation, Mrs Ulunwa Chukwu stated, “Some people want to do this; they do not know the channels to go through. And that’s why, after almost 20 years, we are making it official, to throw it out there and ask people to come in and help me, so that we will be able to sustain this. It is something I have done in the past without making noise, without talking about it, and of course, apart from going about guiding people and giving them hope.”

Beneficiaries at the event comprised 50 widows who received financial support as part of the foundation’s empowerment initiative and 20 students currently benefiting from its scholarship programme.
Additionally, 16 indigenes were presented with cash and food items.
