Stakeholders from Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) have endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term.
Rising from a meeting initiated by the Governor of the State, Babajide Sanwo-olu, leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress unanimously endorsed the second term bid of the President.
The Governor said that “everyone that matters in Lagos agree that President Tinubu deserves a second term.”
“All of the representatives of the stakeholders have come to a conclusion that President Tinubu should present himself to the general house for him to return as our President,” he said.
A motion to adopt the President as the only candidate was thereafter moved by a prominent traditional ruler in the State, Oba Kabir Shotobi and seconded by the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudasiru Obasa.
“On behalf of traditional rulers in Lagos, I, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, we in Lagos endorse President Tinubu to go for a second term,” Shotobi said.
Also speaking at the event, former Governor of Lagos, Babatunde Raji Fashola called for a more inclusive party structure that will give young party members more opportunities and roles to play for the advancement of the party’s fortunes in future elections.
