Public Complaints Commission seeks review of establishment Act

Nigeria’s Public Complaints Commission (PCC) says it is seeking the amendment of its forty-year-old establishment Act

The newly inaugurated Chief commissioner of the PCC, Mr Abimbola Ayo Yusuf who made this known on Monday at the inauguration of the new commissioners of the commission in Abuja, vowed to work assiduously with the National Assembly to ensure that the amendment is actualised.

Thirty-eight commissioners from each of the 36 states of Nigeria & the FCT, were inaugurated by the President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan.

Mr Yusuf, who is the Chief Commissioner is representing Lagos state, which makes it two commissioners from Lagos in the New commission.

President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan urged the commissioners to discharge their responsibilities with the highest level of integrity so as to sustain the hope of Nigerians in the commission.

Supplementary Appropriation

In another development, the Minister of Finance, Madam Zainab Ahmed, met with the principal officers of the National Assembly led by the President of the Senate and Speaker, House of Representatives to discuss details of the supplementary budget with the principal officers, which the Lawmakers received recently in plenary.

As at the time of filing this report, the meeting had gone into a closed session at the conference room of the Senate President.
