The European Union (EU) is set to allocate € 451.5 million (approximately $518 million) to Poland for the development of its rail and maritime infrastructure.
Dariusz Klimczak, Polish Infrastructure Minister, said the funding granted under the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) 2024 programme would support four Polish projects.
“The projects include upgrades to the Rail Baltica section and improvements to port access,” Klimczak said.
Rail Baltica is a key project funded under the programme part of the Trans-European Transport Network linking Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland.
The project aims to align rail infrastructure with EU standards and enhance connections between the Baltic States and the broader European rail network.
