Ebonyi State flags off  planting of over 5,000,000 trees

The Governor of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, Engr David Umahi has flagged off tree planting campaign to create good environment and to protect ozone layer from depletion.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe said the planting of the tree is to ensure that Ebonyi State environment is naturally beautified for healthy living.
“I encourage individuals to emulate what Ebonyi State Government is doing today. This trees we are planting  will serve our Generations tomorrow” Dr Igwe said.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Environment Prince Sunday Ugwuocha said the tree planting is to prepare Ebonyi environment against any climate change that might occur.
“We are  planning over  five million trees in the State, that is why we have extended the excercise to various Secondary and primary schools”. Ugwuocha said.
The Ministry of Environment will deploy experts to ensure that the trees are adequately taking care of to serve the purpose of planting it.
