The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa has renewed calls for strategic partnerships and private sector collaboration to position Nigeria as a leading global destination for tourism, culture, and business investment.
Musawa made the appeal at the eighth edition of the Nigeria Tourism Investors Forum and Exhibition (NTIFE) 2025, organised by the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) in Abuja.

The event, themed “National Tourism Investment and Global Partnership” with the sub-theme “Investing in Nigeria’s Tourism Future,” brought together key players in the tourism and creative industries.
The Minister urged both local and international investors to take advantage of Nigeria’s rich cultural and creative assets, noting that the country is endowed with vast natural resources and human capital capable of competing globally.
She said that the government is committed to fostering sustainability within the sector.
“NTIFE is not just a platform to showcase Nigeria’s cultural wealth, but an invitation to join us in transforming that wealth into lasting economic growth and global impact,” Musawa said.
Highlighting the Nigerian government’s renewed commitment to the sector, Musawa stated that “the creation of the new ministry underscores the administration’s intention to position culture, tourism, and the creative economy as central pillars of national development.”
According to her, “the sector targets contributing $100 billion to the economy by 2030 and generating over two million jobs for young Nigerians.”
She acknowledged existing challenges, particularly infrastructure and policy gaps, but noted that her ministry has already begun implementing frameworks to address these deficits.
To unlock the full potential of the sector, Musawa called on investors to collaborate with the government.
She said; “Today, I extend a call to all investors, stakeholders, and partners. Invest in Nigeria’s heritage, creativity, and natural beauty. Partner with us to build world-class cultural hubs, heritage sites, resorts, creative cities, entertainment infrastructure, and more.
“Collaborate with us to nurture talents, promote our heritage globally, and create opportunities for millions.”
According to Musawa, the Ministry is ready to work with organisations and state governments that bring value to the table, adding that several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are already being signed in line with the Presidential directive to strengthen Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
She encouraged stakeholders to deepen engagement with the Ministry.
“I urge you to engage with the Ministry to see what we are doing and how you too can add value. Together, we can transform Nigeria into a global destination hub where culture meets commerce, tradition meets innovation, and where our diversity becomes a source of pride, unity, and prosperity,” she said.
