The charge was given during a courtesy visit by the Association’s Executive Committee to Army Headquarters in Abuja, underscoring the enduring responsibility of senior military leaders, serving and retired, to remain forces for cohesion within the Armed Forces and the wider society.

According to a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, the COAS congratulated the newly elected executives of the Association and stressed that cohesion and inclusiveness remain critical to sustaining the group’s relevance and impact.

Lieutenant General Shaibu highlighted ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Army to strengthen operational effectiveness, deepen professionalism, and enhance troop welfare.

He noted noting that plans are underway to expand the Army’s strength and establish additional depots to better respond to security challenges across the country.

He urged members of the 38 Regular Course to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Army, leveraging their collective experience and influence to collaborate with ministries, institutions, and other stakeholders in addressing national challenges.
