The Gombe State Government has inaugurated Local Government Area Coordinators for the Renewed Hope Initiative, a national programme aimed at advancing the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda through empowerment and humanitarian support.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who was represented by the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, said the Renewed Hope Agenda demonstrated the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the living standards of Nigerians, through poverty reduction, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and economic growth.
Dr. Jatau commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for ensuring the programme reached grassroots communities, while praising the appointment of Dr. Aishatu Jibril Dukku, as the Gombe State Coordinator of the initiative, noting her proven competence.

Dr. Jatau urged the newly appointed LGA Coordinators to justify their selection through dedication and effective service, stressing that their success will be measured by visible impact on communities.
Dr. Jatau formally inaugurated the coordinators and charged them to ensure the agenda reaches all parts of Gombe State.
Improving Welfare of Vulnerable Groups
The Gombe State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Dr. Aishatu Jibril Dukku, said the initiative was focused on improving the welfare of vulnerable groups, including women, youths, families, persons living with disabilities and communities affected by economic hardship.

Dr. Dukku noted that the programme, anchored on the Office of the First Lady, collaborates with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies to enhance the effectiveness of social interventions while complying with Nigerian laws and standards governing non-profit and humanitarian activities.
She explained that the initiative covered economic and social empowerment, food security, support for displaced and crisis-affected communities, grassroots development, partnerships and advocacy for social inclusion.
According to her, the programme is headed by the Director-General Senator Hope Uzodimma, with nationwide coordination through zonal and state offices, and the North-East Zone led by former Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda.

Describing the inauguration as a major milestone, Dr. Dukku said the appointment of LGA Coordinators would bring Federal Government interventions closer to the people of Gombe State. She thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the confidence placed in her and pledged that she and the 11 coordinators would work to ensure effective implementation of the initiative in the state.
He called on youths across Nigeria to take advantage of the initiative, which he said had the potential to lift them out of poverty.
Mr. Danladi, however, noted that achieving this would require perseverance, hard work, dedication and commitment, warning beneficiaries against selling the items provided to them.
