President Tinubu Attends Juma’at Prayers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday, attended Juma’at prayers at the National Mosque, Abuja, and witnessed the solemnisation of the wedding fatiha of ten children of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.

The friday events commenced with the 2 rakaat Juma’at prayers, after which the presiding Imam of the National Mosque, Professor Zakariyya Lukman, delivered a sermon focused on spiritual and physical preparation for the forthcoming Ramadan fast.

Professor Lukman urged the faithful to embrace repentance, seek forgiveness and align their conduct with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.

Proceedings later moved to the solemnisation of the wedding fatiha of the minister’s children, involving five grooms and five brides.

The brief but well-attended ceremony drew a distinguished congregation of present and former governors, members of the National Assembly and heads of key government agencies.

At the wedding ceremony, President Tinubu served as the Father of the Day, with the President of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, President Carlos Vila Nova lending support in a show of diplomatic goodwill and personal solidarity.

Special prayers were also offered for the continued success of President Tinubu’s administration and for peace, stability and prosperity across Nigeria.
