The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, Comrade Grace Ike, has felicitated with Muslims in Abuja on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, urging unity, compassion and peaceful coexistence.

In a statement marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Ike described the period as one of deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice and renewed commitment to the service of humanity.

She commended Muslims for their devotion and discipline throughout the fasting period, noting that the values demonstrated during Ramadan promote social harmony and national cohesion.

The NUJ FCT Chair called on Muslim journalists and Nigerians at large to sustain the virtues of patience, tolerance, generosity and compassion imbibed during the period.

She noted that the occasion provides an opportunity for all Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, to embrace unity and mutual respect.

Ike also urged citizens to extend acts of kindness to the less privileged, stressing that Eid-el-Fitr is not only a time for celebration but also a season of sharing and empathy.

She further called on leaders at all levels to reflect on the lessons of sacrifice and service embodied in Ramadan by promoting inclusive and people-oriented policies.

While wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyful celebration, Ike advised residents to celebrate responsibly and in line with public safety guidelines.
