Egyptian table tennis star, Hana Goda, has climbed four places to reach World No. 22 in the latest ITTF women’s singles rankings, equalling her career‑high senior ranking first achieved in October 2025.

This rise follows her historic quarter‑final run at the ITTF World Cup in Macao, where she became the first African woman to reach that stage.

In what is turning out to be a momentous year for the 18‑year‑old, she earlier won the Africa Cup in Libya in February and helped her French club Metz qualify for the semi‑finals of the French Pro A Dames Championship.

Reflecting on her thrilling 4–3 victory over France’s Jia Nan Yuan, Goda explained why it is important to always dream higher despite achieving a target:

“I came to this tournament with a goal to reach the quarter‑finals,” Goda said. “And now that I have achieved it, we make big goals and try to achieve them.”

Only Dina Meshref, Quadri Aruna and Omar Assar have previously broken into the Top 25 of the ITTF World Rankings; now Goda has joined this elite line up.

Elsewhere, there were few movements for other African players: Assar and Aruna remain unmoved at 32nd and 48th, respectively, while Meshref holds at 48th.
