The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has visited the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, to deepen collaboration and expand opportunities for women in sports.
The visit featured a facility tour of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, where the Minister had a firsthand view of ongoing activities within Nigeria’s high-performance sports environment.

At the Velodrome, she observed cycling athletes in training ahead of the 2026 CAC Track African Championships scheduled for May 13 to 17, 2026.
The engagement underscores the Ministry’s commitment to broadening women’s participation across sectors, including sports, while strengthening institutional partnerships that promote inclusion and opportunity.

During the visit, the Minister formally notified the NSC Chairman of plans to host a National Women Engagement Programme at the stadium in May 2026.
In response, the NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko welcomed the initiative and pledged the full support, alignment and collaboration of the Commission.
