A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC has tasked Governors to use more of their security votes on intelligence gathering to aid security agencies.

The former diplomat said intelligence gathering is the most effective mean of getting on top of the recurring security challenges.

Eze, in a statement in Abuja, said information provided by those on ground are processed into actionable intelligence, which the security forces will use to nip any attack in the bud.

According to him:“The governors receive a statutory allocation and set aside a large chunk as security vote; what do they do with the money?

“Are they not supposed to deploy such monies into intelligence gathering, and in so doing assisting the security operatives in their domains to be on top of the evolving security breaches.”

He condemned some Governors whom he alleged are fond of shifting responsibility when they have security challenges.

Eze commended the military and other security forces for their unwavering commitment to tackling internal security challenges across the country.

He stated security requires the attention of all, adding people must play their part in arresting the unfortunate situation by providing accurate and timely information to the security agents.

The Enugu- based APC chieftain debunked insinuation people of the southeast are anti-Buhari but blamed some politicians in the region who he said are hell-bent on poisoning the minds of the people with their unconscionable narratives.
