The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, to seek a second term in office in the 2027 governorship election.
This is disclosed in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, following the completion of the party’s screening exercise conducted by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC.
Speaking after the exercise held at the Plateau Governor’s Lodge, the National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nantawe Yilwadda, said that “Governor Yusuf successfully met all constitutional and party requirements to contest for another term.”
He stated that the Governor has, so far, emerged as the sole aspirant for the APC governorship ticket in Kano State ahead of the 2027 polls.

Reacting to the development, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to the leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in him.
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining policies aimed at promoting peace, economic growth, and inclusive development across Kano State.
He also called on party members and supporters to remain united and work collectively towards the continued progress of the state and the party’s success in the 2027 election.
