The All Progressives Congress, APC has commended aspirants who participated in the just concluded National Assembly primaries in Benue State, North Central Nigeria, for conducting themselves peacefully during the exercise.
The party described the process as a major step towards strengthening unity and stability within the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
Chairman of the party in Benue State, Benjamin Omale, gave the commendation while addressing party faithful and delegates during the declaration of results for the Senatorial primaries held in Makurdi.

He noted that the peaceful atmosphere that characterised the primaries reflected the maturity and commitment of party members to the progress of the APC in the state.
Mr. Omale praised members of the National Assembly Electoral Committee for demonstrating competence, courage and transparency throughout the conduct of the exercise.
According to him, the committee displayed fairness and professionalism despite the tense political atmosphere surrounding the primaries.
Security Agencies
The APC Chairman also appreciated security agencies and party officials for ensuring orderliness during the exercise.
He urged all aspirants and their supporters to place the interest of the party above personal ambitions and work collectively towards securing victory for the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
Mr. Omale appealed to aspirants who emerged victorious in the primaries to embrace their opponents in the spirit of sportsmanship and reconciliation,.
He stressed that unity among party members remained crucial to the success of the APC at both the state and national levels.
Declaring the results, the State Returning Officer, Sabiu Mahota, maintained that the electoral committee discharged its responsibilities with sincerity, fairness and credibility in line with the stipulated guidelines of the party.
He insisted that due process was followed in the conduct of the primaries across the three senatorial districts of the state.
