The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has successfully concluded primary elections for two of its three senatorial districts, yielding a landslide victory for sitting Governor Abdullahi Sule in Nasarawa North and an affirmative victory for Dr. Faisal Shuaib in Nasarawa West.
The results, announced by the APC National Assembly Primary Elections Committee, signal a major reshaping of the state’s political landscape ahead of the general elections.
In Akwanga, the headquarters of the Nasarawa North Senatorial District, Governor Abdullahi Sule secured a resounding victory over his sole opponent to claim the party’s senatorial ticket.
Announcing the results, the Chairman of the APC Primary Elections Committee, Musa Shuaibu Guri, revealed that Governor Sule polled a massive 47,393 votes while his challenger, Silas Ali Agaraa former Deputy Governor and the immediate past Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) secured 2,915 votes.
“Abdullahi Sule, having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared winner of the primary election and returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Nasarawa North Senatorial District,” Guri declared.

Meanwhile, in Keffi, the zonal headquarters for Nasarawa West, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, the former Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), emerged as the district’s APC flagbearer.
Musa Shuaibu Guri, also serving as the Returning Officer for this zone, announced that Dr. Shuaib secured 98,614 votes through a peaceful and transparent affirmation process.
He said the primary election was conducted across the five local government areas of the zone: Keffi, Toto, Nasarawa, Kokona, and Karu.
Guri commended Governor Sule for providing an enabling and cooperative environment that allowed the committee to execute its duties smoothly.
Reacting to the victory, Yusuf Omaki, the Acting Director-General of the DFS Campaign Movement, expressed gratitude to the stakeholders of Nasarawa West for their confidence in Dr. Shuaib.
“Dr. Shuaib has the competence and global experience to attract significant investment to the zone, the state, and the National Assembly,” Omaki said.
He therefore called for reconciliation among all aspirants to ensure party unity ahead of the general election.
With two districts settled, all eyes now turn to Nasarawa South, where the primary election result remains pending.
The ticket is a high-stakes contest between the current Deputy Governor of the state, Emmanuel Akabe, and Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba, the current member of the House of Representatives representing the Awe/Doma/Keana federal constituency.
