A former military Head of State, Abdulsami Abubakar has called on Muslims to uphold the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim by loving one another, promoting unity, and helping humanity.
Abdulsalami made the call shortly after Eid prayer at the Unguwan Daji Eid Ground in Minna.
The former Head of State, congratulated Muslims and Nigerians on the Eid celebration.
“We should pray for peace, prosperity, and stability especially, as country approaches another election period,” he stated.
Similarly, the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago thanked Allah for witnessing another Eid celebration, describing the festival as an important period that promotes unity, peace, and togetherness among Muslims across the world.

According to him, Eid el-Kabir also offers an opportunity for Muslims to seek forgiveness from Allah, pray for the country, and a better future for humanity.
He expressed hope that the prayers offered during the celebration would bring peace, progress, and development to Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Governor said the gathering of people from different backgrounds at the prayer ground reflected the spirit of unity and oneness encouraged by Islam.
He urged politicians and citizens to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly during the political season in order to ensure credible and peaceful elections.
The Governor noted that Nigeria is currently facing many challenges and stressed the need for continuous prayers for peace and national unity.
In a related message, Senator Peter Ndalikali Jiya congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Senator urged Muslims to emulate the good teachings of Prophet Ibrahim by showing love, sacrifice, and support for one another.
He also appreciated the prayers and support from the people of Niger South Senatorial District, saying such goodwill would contribute to the growth and development of the state and the country.
The prayer was led by the Deputy Imam, Sheikh Habib Mai Basira, and attended by government officials, politicians, traditional leaders, and other Muslim faithful.
