Troops Rescue kidnapped Farmers, Recover Motorcycles in Sokoto

The troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued seven kidnapped farmers and recovered motorcycles from bandits that attacked farmers in the Gandi community in the Rabah local government area of Sokoto state.

A credible security source from the area disclosed the operational success to the Voice of Nigeria in Sokoto State.

The source said troops of the 8th Division of the Nigerian Army deployed in Gandi undertook the operation, and during the encounter, one civilian sustained a gunshot wound from bandits.

The source said the incident occurred on Tuesday morning, adding that the wounded victim has been taken to General Hospital Gandi for treatment.

A source who pleaded for anonymity for no authority to speak to the press reiterated that proactive measures were ensured to protect lives and properties as well as adequate security for farming, stressing the need for more vigilance by farmers.

The credible source further disclosed that the vigilance and quick response of troops saved lives and properties.
