As part of its commitment to promoting effective border governance and enhancing national security, the National Boundary Commission (NBC) participated in the 15th National Security Seminar themed “Strengthening Nigeria’s Border Security Architecture for National Security,” held at the National Defence College (NDC), Abuja,
The Director-General of the National Boundary Commission, Surveyor Adamu Adaji, was represented at the Seminar by Cross-border Unit Head of the Commission, Dr. Farouk Tarfa.

The event was organised by the Alumni Association of the National Defence College (AANDEC) in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the National Defence College (NDC).
The Seminar brought together key stakeholders from the military, security, intelligence and law enforcement communities to examine the current state of Nigeria’s borders, contemporary and emerging security threats, and integrated border security strategies required to address evolving security challenges.
Discussions underscored the critical role of secure and well-managed borders in safeguarding national sovereignty, promoting regional stability and facilitating socio-economic development.
Among its key recommendations were the need to fast-track the delimitation and demarcation of Nigeria’s international boundaries, strengthen engagement with border communities, enhance cross-border cooperation, and improve inter-agency coordination and collaboration.
The Seminar was attended by serving and retired senior military officers, as well as representatives of various security and law enforcement agencies.
