President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his re-election, urging him to remain magnanimous in victory and carry all Ekiti people along as he builds on the achievements of his first term over the next four years.
The President gave the charge in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, while congratulating Governor Oyebanji on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.
President Tinubu described the governor’s re-election as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his administration by the people of the state, noting that the renewed mandate underscores public support for continuity, stability, and people-centred governance.

He noted that Governor Oyebanji’s first term recorded significant progress in infrastructure development, agriculture, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and rural development under the BAO Agenda.
The President added that with the victory, Oyebanji has become the first governor in the history of Ekiti State to secure re-election back-to-back.
The President commended the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the election and for demonstrating their commitment to democratic values through the ballot.
He also praised security agencies for maintaining law and order throughout the electoral process, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the exercise.
President Tinubu further urged INEC to sustain efforts to deliver peaceful, free, fair, and credible elections as the nation prepares for the Osun State governorship election in August and the general elections next year.
Rally Behind Governor
The President also commended other contestants in the election for exercising their democratic rights and called on all stakeholders to rally behind Governor Oyebanji in collective task of advancing the development of Ekiti State.
He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with the Ekiti State Government to deliver more dividends of democracy and accelerate the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
President Tinubu prayed for God’s wisdom, strength, and good health for Governor Oyebanji as he continues to serve the people of Ekiti State.
