The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), has announced that the 21st edition of the Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF), will attract over 500 exhibitors, showcase more than 10,000 products and services, and welcome approximately 100,000 visitors.
The Chamber also disclosed that the 12-day event is scheduled for September 25 to October 6, 2026.
The announcement was made by the 1st Deputy President of ACCI and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, during a media briefing in Abuja.
Professor Adesugba noted that the theme of the 2026 edition, “Resilience, Trade, Taxation and the Economy,” reflects the realities confronting businesses in today’s economic environment.
He said; “Businesses continue to navigate challenges arising from economic uncertainties, inflationary pressures, supply chain disruptions, exchange rate volatility, evolving tax regimes and rapid technological transformation.
“The fair will therefore provide a strategic platform for dialogue, innovation and collaboration aimed at strengthening business resilience and promoting sustainable economic growth.”
Professor Adesugba said the event would focus on promoting trade and investment opportunities, facilitating discussions on tax reforms, showcasing innovative products and technologies, strengthening business-to-business and business-to-government engagements, and encouraging economic diversification.
“Special attention will be given to emerging sectors such as financial technology, digital payments, taxation technology, sustainable transportation, food processing, environmental sustainability and other innovative solutions that support inclusive economic growth and resilience,” he said.
Professor Adesugbe noted that beyond business exhibitions, the fair will feature several side attractions designed to promote networking, cultural exchange and entertainment.
“Among the highlights are the Miss AITF 2026 competition and the Buy Africa, Build Africa Festival (BABA Fest AITF Weekend 2026).
“BABA Fest will feature live performances by leading African artists, immersive art exhibitions, high energy fashion shows, exclusive networking opportunities and cutting-edge brand activations,” Professor Adesugba said.
The Director-General of ACCI, Agabaidu Jideani reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening the private sector, creating business opportunities and driving sustainable economic growth
He noted that the Abuja International Trade Fair had grown into one of Nigeria’s leading platforms for trade, investment and regional economic cooperation.
“Over the years, the Abuja International Trade Fair has evolved into one of Africa’s, Nigeria’s foremost platforms for promoting trade, investment, innovation, industrial development and regional economic cooperation,” he stated.
According to him, the changing global economic landscape requires businesses to become more innovative and resilient in order to remain competitive.
