The Chief Imam, National Mosque, Abuja, Professor Muhammad Adam, has made a passionate plea to the Nigerian Government for an improved welfare package for Civil Servants across the country.
Imam Adam made the plea at the National Mosque in an interview with journalists, shortly after the Jumma’at prayers, as part of activities marking the 2026 Africa Public Service Week.
He said an improved welfare package will enhance productivity in the service, thereby translating to a better socioeconomic development for the nation.
The Iman noted that, despite funding being a global challenge, there is a need for the government to look into the Service welfare package.
He further urged Civil Servants to remain loyal and patriotic through their work, bearing in mind that they have a duty to contribute to the development of the nation.

“We’re calling on all stakeholders to ensure that Nigeria remains peaceful”. Concerning the security challenges, we call on Allah SWA to come to our aid. To remove all the insecurities that we’re experiencing in this country. We pray to Allah SWA to protect our leaders, guide them and give them the wisdom to carry us along to a greater height”.
Representing the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Shuaibu Belgore, said the Nigerian Civil Service will continue to provide services in the best possible ways to Nigerians.
“We will continue to improve in what we are doing, we will continue to ask Allah to bless us and give us the ability to serve Nigeria and to build a stronger country”.
