The wife of the Nigerian President, Oluremi Bola Tinubu, has commissioned the new headquarters of the Nigerian Red Cross Society in Abuja, Nigeria.
She said the commissioning of the new headquarters building is a testament to the enduring commitment of the Nigerian Red Cross Society in alleviating human suffering and bringing hope to the most vulnerable.

According to her, the influence of the activities of the Red Cross extends far beyond the surface. “Whether providing first aid or responding to disasters, supporting victims of conflicts, promoting health and wellbeing or providing humanitarian assistance to communities in need, the Society has remained steadfast in its mission of serving humanity without discrimination”.
The First Lady noted that the new office building will further strengthen the Society’s capacity to coordinate its Humanitarian activities, enhance operational effectiveness and deepen its impact across Nigeria.
“At this Juncture, to the glory of God and the benefit of mankind, I hereby officially Commission the National headquarters of the Nigerian Red Cross Society”.
Earlier, the First Lady received an investiture as the Grand Matron of the Nigerian Red Cross Society.
In her words, “I recall with fondness the time I was Matron of the society when I was first lady of Lagos State, between 1999 and 2007. I’ve never left the society, I’ve always been supporting silently, even till date”.
Mrs Oluremi Bola Tinubu further applauded the remarkable work of the leadership of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, staff, partners and Volunteers for their dedication and sacrifice, adding that their selfless service continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals and families.
