Anambra: Coalition Endorses APGA House of Reps Candidate

A Cross-Party Coalition, comprising members of different political parties in Anambra State, has endorsed the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Chief Chukwudi Oli.

The endorsement was announced during a consultative meeting between the coalition and the APGA House of Representatives campaign organisation in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

The coalition comprises members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and other political parties.

Those present at the meeting included the APGA candidate, Chief Chukwudi Oli; the Director-General of the campaign organisation and former Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. George Ozor; APGA Chairman in Njikoka Local Government Area, Chief Onyenechi Ezeaso; retired Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi; Chief Chibuzo Oli; Chief Ogochukwu Egolum; and other party stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, its leader, Ozo Ejiamatu, said members had resolved to support Oli because of what they described as his commitment to community development and public service.

According to Ejiamatu, the endorsement cuts across party lines and was based on the coalition’s confidence in Oli’s ability to provide effective representation for the constituency if elected.

We have members from the PDP, APC, NDC and other political parties, but we have come together because we believe supporting Chief Chukwudi Oli is in the best interest of our people. We are confident he will work for the progress of the constituency if elected to the House of Representatives,” he said.

Ejiamatu added that the coalition was committed to supporting credible leaders capable of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

Also speaking, the coalition’s chairman, Chief Onyenechi Ezeaso, clarified that the group was not an APGA political structure, stressing that its endorsement of Oli did not amount to support for all APGA candidates in future elections.

Responding, Oli thanked the coalition for the endorsement and pledged to uphold accountability, transparency, inclusiveness and people-centred representation if elected.

He said he would prioritise the development of the constituency above personal interests, adding that his legislative agenda would focus on improving the welfare of constituents and promoting sustainable development across the federal constituency.

Oli also pledged to pursue initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of the people.

The Director-General of the campaign organisation, George Ozor, described the endorsement as a major boost to the campaign, expressing confidence that the growing cross-party support would strengthen APGA’s prospects in the constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.

Similarly, the APGA Chairman in Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Anakwe, commended the coalition for its support, describing the endorsement as a morale booster for the party and its candidates in the area, including its senatorial candidate, Dozie Nwankwo.
