Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, for an official visit.
His plane touched down around 16: 15 GMT at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport Maiduguri.


The Vice President was received by the Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum alongside the Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Ali Dalori.
Also on hand to receive the Vice President were Senators Tahir Monguno and Kaka Shehu.

Shortly after arriving Maiduguri, the Vice President paid condolences on three families all within Maiduguri metropolis.

The bereaved families include those of a former Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abdullahi Shettima, Prof Shehu Liberty and Amma Gangaram.
