Operation HADIN KAI has rescued six more abducted civilians as sustained search-and-rescue operations and intensified military pressure continue to weaken terrorist networks across Nigeria’s North East.

According to a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, troops achieved the latest breakthrough through coordinated air and ground exploitation supported by credible intelligence during ongoing efforts to recover abducted victims, including students of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa.

The rescued victims, comprising four adults and two infants abducted from Mussa in Askira/Uba Local Government Area in May, were recovered at Talakawa in Chibok Local Government Area and evacuated to a secure location where they are receiving comprehensive medical evaluation, humanitarian assistance and other support ahead of reunification with their families.

The Theatre Command stated that the latest rescue reflects the effectiveness of coordinated search-and-rescue operations involving the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Borno State Government, other security agencies and auxiliary forces working to secure the release of all remaining abductees.

The statement further disclosed that troops have maintained relentless pursuit of fleeing terrorists, sustaining pressure along their withdrawal routes and denying them freedom of movement across the theatre.

During exploitation of the insurgents’ withdrawal axis, troops recovered 50 rounds of PKT ammunition abandoned by the fleeing terrorists, an indication of the sustained pressure being mounted against the group.

Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed that search-and-rescue operations would continue with renewed intensity until every abducted victim is safely recovered, while urging residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities promptly and disregard unverified information capable of creating unnecessary public anxiety.

The Theatre Command also reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property, defeating terrorism and restoring lasting peace and stability across the North East.
