Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, has presented Letters of Credence to 11 ambassadors and high commissioners-designate.
This was done to clear the way for their deployment to diplomatic missions across the world.
The envoys will represent Nigeria in countries including South Africa, Italy, Malaysia, India, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Mali, Gabon, Hungary, Jamaica and the Philippines, with several receiving concurrent accreditation to other nations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Enikanolaiye urged the diplomats to align their work with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by promoting national development, attracting foreign investment, strengthening trade ties, enhancing security cooperation and protecting Nigerians abroad.
He said each Head of Mission would receive a customised Station Charter outlining specific targets, while annual performance assessments would be conducted to measure results and accountability.
The minister also highlighted the Ministry’s reform agenda built on the four pillars of Demography, Development, Democracy and the Diaspora (4-Ds), stressing that Nigerians remain at the centre of the country’s foreign policy objectives.

Responding on behalf of the envoys, High Commissioner-designate to the Philippines, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe (Rtd), pledged that the diplomats would uphold Nigeria’s image, advance the country’s foreign policy goals and support the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
