The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and AKADEMIYA2063 have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), climate and weather data analytics, and evidence-based research to strengthen climate resilience, agricultural productivity, and food security in Nigeria.
The agreement was signed by the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NiMet, Prof. Charles Anosike, along with AKADEMIYA2063’s Managing Director, Dr Debisi Araba, and the organisation’s Director of Data Intelligence and Governance, Dr Racine Ly.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Anosike said the partnership underscored NiMet’s commitment to embracing emerging technologies to improve weather and climate services.
