The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Audi, has called on personnel to uphold integrity in the discharge of their duties to effectively deliver on the agency’s mandate.
The call is contained in a statement issued by the Corps Public Relations Officer, Afolabi Babawale, in which he informed that the Commandant General made the remarks in Abuja, at the induction of 100 Anti-Fraud Unit officers drawn from various formations and the launch of two books authored by the head of the unit.
The statement noted that Professor Audi emphasised that executing the Corps’ key responsibilities of protecting lives and property, maintaining public order, and promoting community safety is impossible without integrity.

“Fraud and corruption are insidious threats that can undermine our efforts, erode public trust, and compromise the very fabric of our agency.
“They not only affect our operations but also tarnish the reputation of the entire civil service.
“Today, we take a stand against these threats, reinforcing our commitment to ethical conduct and accountability,” he noted.
Demonstrating the agency’s commitment to discipline, Professor Audi revealed that 37 personnel have been dismissed from service, with some slated for prosecution due to involvement in job racketeering, bribery, gun-running, and other unprofessional conduct.
In her welcome address, the Head of the Anti-Fraud Unit, Commandant of Corps Emeribe Chinyere Victory, noted that the unit remains committed to driving integrity, transparency, and accountability across the agency and stated that since the unit’s creation in 2007 and initial training at the EFCC Institute in 2008, successive leaderships have enhanced capacity building.
She expressed gratitude to Professor Audi for providing an enabling environment free from interference and added that the unit continues to detect, prevent, and investigate corrupt activities involving personnel and contractors.
The event featured the launch of two books authored by Dr. Emeribe: The Dark Side of Duty and The Anti-Fraud Lexicon, reviewed by retired Assistant Controller General Hammed Abodurin.
