The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has approved five designated airlines for the transportation of Nigerian pilgrims during the 2027 Hajj exercise.
In a statement issued by the Commission on August 13, 2026, the Nigerian Government approved the engagement of the airlines following a comprehensive screening and evaluation exercise conducted by the Aviation Screening Committee.
According to NAHCON, “the selection was based on regulatory safety requirements, operational capacity and financial guidelines.”

The Commission said the engagement of the airlines remains subject to the signing of airlift agreements with NAHCON and compliance with the requirements of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) for the 2027 Hajj.
The approved carriers are Air Peace Limited, Flynas, Max Air Limited, Saudi Air and UMZA Aviation Services Limited.
NAHCON explained that passenger allocations and airlift schedules would be determined in collaboration with the various State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and other operators.
The Commission said that “all approved carriers must operate in accordance with the 2027 Hajj regulations, including the issuance of tickets linked to pilgrims’ Nusuk-Masar data, strict adherence to safety standards and compliance with the approved baggage policy.”
Under the baggage guidelines, each pilgrim will be allowed one 32-kilogramme checked bag and one 8-kilogramme hand luggage.
NAHCON called on all stakeholders to cooperate with the designated airlines to ensure a seamless, safe and comfortable airlift operation for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2027 Hajj exercise.
