The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has urged Islamic scholars to intensify sensitisation among intending pilgrims on the September 26, 2026 deadline set by Saudi Arabia for the registration of pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj.
The agency’s chairman, Malam Aliyu Musa, made the call during a meeting with members of the Sokoto State Hajj Ulama Committee in Sokoto.
Musa urged the scholars to use Friday sermons, Islamic lectures and other religious gatherings to educate intending pilgrims on the need to complete their registration and payment processes promptly.

He also appealed to pilgrims who had made payments to submit their valid international passports to the agency without delay, stressing that the timely submission of the required documents was essential for successful Hajj preparations.
The agency’s Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar, described the Ulama Committee as a key partner in Hajj administration, while its Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Attahiru, assured the agency of the committee’s continued support and cooperation.
The meeting was attended by all directors of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency.
