The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced preparations for the 2027 Hajj exercise with the announcement of key guidelines and updates for intending pilgrims across the state.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, disclosed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has implemented new policies designed to facilitate a smooth Hajj (pilgrimage) operation.
He further stated that a total of 2,058 Hajj slots have been allocated to the state for the 2027 pilgrimage.
Abdulkadir announced that Saturday, September 26, 2026, had been fixed as the deadline for the payment of the initial Hajj deposit.

He said that although the final Hajj fare for 2027 has not been fixed due to ongoing planning, logistics and other operational costs, intending pilgrims are required to pay an initial deposit of ₦6 million to secure their slots.
Abdulkadir explained that payments should be made through a bank draft obtained from any commercial bank in the name of “Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.”
The Executive Secretary also advised intending pilgrims whose international passports will expire before the 2027 Hajj to renew them promptly, noting that the directive is in line with the latest policy of the Saudi authorities.
Highlighting the Board’s successful performance during the 2026 Hajj exercise, Alhaji Abdulkadir stated that no casualty was recorded among pilgrims from Kwara State.
He urged all intending pilgrims to approach the sacred journey with pure intentions, emphasising that Hajj is an act of worship that requires sincerity, patience, and complete submission to Allah.
Abdulkadir added that every intending pilgrim must be physically healthy, mentally sound, and be at least 16 years of age to qualify for the pilgrimage.
The Executive Secretary assured intending pilgrims that the Kwara State Government remains committed to providing efficient, transparent, and pilgrim-friendly services throughout the 2027 Hajj exercise and called on all interested Muslims in the state to complete their registration and payments before the stipulated deadline.
