The representative of the Federal Government, Dr. Namadi Lawal, disclosed this commending the conduct of the state during the first phase of the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Lawal said Zamfara State was rated second in the federation during the first phase while expressing the hope that the state would repeat the same success or even surpass its previous performance in the second phase exercise.

He advised the people who had already taken the AstraZeneca vaccine during the first phase, not to take the Moderna vaccine, saying that their second dosages will come later.

Similarly, he urged the state government to provide solar power systems at the store, to prevent power outages, as the vaccines can only be preserved under an intensive cooling system.

Receiving the vaccines, on behalf of the state, the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasiru Magarya, assured of the state government’s commitment to diligently administer the vaccines to achieve more success.

Magarya said the state government’s committee on COVID-19 under his watch, would ensure adequate supervision and monitoring throughout the exercise in the state.

He stated further that proper enlightenment of the public would also be done to make sure the vaccines reached unvaccinated people as directed.
