Organisation Trains Youths in AI, Vocational Skills

The World International Sacred Peace Movement (WISPM) has trained children and youths in artificial intelligence (AI) and other vocational skills as part of efforts to prepare them for the future workplace and promote economic empowerment.

The training was organised during the movement’s annual three-day camping programme, popularly known as the “Success Camp”, held across various church zones around the world.

Speaking in an interview with the Voice of Nigeria (VON), WISPM Media Minister, Kingsley David, said the introduction of vocational skills, including AI tools and solar installation, aimed to help young people discover their talents and interests while developing employable and entrepreneurial skills.

He explained that the initiative would help reduce youths’ dependence on others, keep them away from negative influences and idleness, and equip them with digital skills needed to navigate the future workplace.

David noted that the programme was designed to enable young people to contribute positively to their families, communities and society, while producing spiritually and morally grounded, productive, confident and economically empowered individuals.

He explained that the programme also exposed youths to the positive and negative aspects of social media, urging them to embrace online content that promotes creativity while avoiding immoral content, violence, fraud, peer pressure and time-wasting trends.

The Media Minister stressed that WISPM was committed to raising generations of God-fearing and purpose-driven youths who would uphold biblical values and positively influence their communities.

He said the programme would help young people make wise decisions, build meaningful relationships, promote peace and foster unity among those around them.

David stressed that the initiative provided an avenue to develop future leaders, peacemakers and ambassadors of God’s love who would positively impact Nigeria, Africa and the world.

In the same vein, an AI expert with WISPM from the Rivers/Bonny Zone in Southern Nigeria, Mr Promise Maduagwu, urged children and youths to embrace AI tools for creating images and videos using laptops and other digital devices.

He described AI as one of the fastest-growing opportunities through which young people could acquire skills, generate income and contribute to the economies of their respective countries.

Also speaking, a member of the National Welfare Committee of WISPM and one of the programme’s presenters, Mrs Glory Kette, emphasised the importance of choosing the right career path.

She encouraged youths to embrace globally relevant vocational skills, including AI, cybersecurity and digital marketing.

Kette urged the youths not to stop dreaming or trying, saying WISPM would provide a three-month internship programme in AI and other vocational skills.

She encouraged interested participants to submit their names to their zonal youth coordinators.

The National Youth Leader of WISPM, Dr Moses Okerafor, explained the rationale behind the theme of the three-day camping programme for children and youths across the globe: “Good Relationship with the Church but Zero Relationship with God.”

He described the theme as timely, given the increasing participation of young people in church activities without a corresponding personal and meaningful relationship with God.
