Chamber of Commerce to bid for Kano International Airport

The Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) has declared readiness to bid for the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA).

Deputy President of the chamber, Usman Darma, who disclosed the intention at a press briefing, explained that KACCIMA was prepared to undertake the airport plan for concession.

The Federal Government through the Ministry of Aviation had invited bids from reputable airport developers/ operators/ financiers/consortia for pre-qualification for the concession of four selected airport terminals under a public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement.

KACCIMA’s declaration of interest came shortly after the Federal Government released the invitation for bids for four international airports, including Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja; Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos; Mallam Aminu Kano Airport, Kano and Port Harcourt Airport.

Darma, who asserted the capacity of KACCIMA to undertake the concession project, said it intends to transform MAKIA into an enviable facility in terms of revenue generation and security.
