The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Lagos has graduated 33 senior and mid-level officers who completed the Senior and Mid-Level Officers Entrepreneurship and Management Course.
The programme was designed to equip participants with entrepreneurial, managerial and leadership skills to promote self-reliance and prepare them for successful transition into productive ventures.
The graduation ceremony, held on Thursday, featured the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, as the Special Guest of Honour.

Jimoh commended the NAFRC and its partners for sustaining a programme that promotes leadership, innovation and economic empowerment among military personnel.
He described the graduation as a celebration of resilience, transformation and preparation for another phase of productive national service.
According to him, the training was strategically designed to prepare participants for effective leadership, self-reliance and meaningful contributions to national development, particularly after active service.
The AIG also commended the Commandant of NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, and the management of the Empretec Nigeria Foundation for their commitment to human capacity development.
Jimoh stressed the importance of entrepreneurship in a rapidly changing world, noting that economic realities, technological advancement and global competition require creativity, adaptability and sound managerial competence.
“Entrepreneurship is no longer an option but a necessity for sustainable economic growth, job creation and national stability. Therefore, the training received by the graduands is timely, strategic and highly relevant to present realities,” he said.
He urged the graduating officers to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to establish businesses and initiatives capable of empowering youths, reducing unemployment and stimulating local economies.
Earlier, the Director of Training, Brigadier General Isang Akpaumontia, said the 33 officers were drawn from the Defence Intelligence Agency, Defence Space Administration, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force and NAFRC.
He said the mid-level course commenced on August 3, 2026, and lasted five weeks, while the senior-level course began on August 10 and ran for four weeks.
According to him, the training was conducted in collaboration with the Empretec Nigeria Foundation and featured lectures, workshops, practical exercises, as well as local and international study tours.
He said the programme covered agriculture, emotional intelligence, business management, legal advisory services, health and lifestyle, and entrepreneurship development.
The participants visited organisations including Spectra Industries Limited, National Conservation Centre, Cormart Nigeria Limited and Commint Buka Restaurant.
The international study tour took the participants to the Songhai Farming Community in Porto Novo, Republic of Benin, where they were exposed to integrated farming systems, smart agriculture and zero-waste agricultural practices.
Speaking at the ceremony, the NAFRC Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ilo, congratulated the graduates and expressed confidence that they were better positioned to excel in enterprise development and business management.
Ilo charged the graduates to return to their respective formations and apply the knowledge acquired during the programme while serving as worthy ambassadors of the Centre.
He also acknowledged the support of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Service Chiefs; the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar; and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their continued commitment to capacity-building initiatives within the Armed Forces.
Awards were presented to outstanding groups in recognition of teamwork and performance during practical exercises and syndicate activities.
All participants also received joint certificates issued by the NAFRC and the Empretec Nigeria Foundation.
