The Kremlin says it does not rule out resuming trilateral peace talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States, though it remains too early to determine venue or dates.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement responding to questions about a visit to Moscow and Kyiv by US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who are working to revive stalled negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
Peskov said, “We, too, do not rule out resumption of this trilateral format, but it is still too early to speak of venue and exact dates,”.
He added that the Kremlin does not rule out a phone call between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump to discuss the envoys’ visit.
He described US mediation efforts as a step towards peace and said Putin holds Trump’s peace efforts in high regard.

Witkoff and Kushner held talks with Putin in Moscow before travelling to Kyiv, their first visit to the Ukrainian capital since the war began.
The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, says the discussions produced “several new ideas,” without elaborating further.
Reports say Moscow had not yet received a full readout of the Kyiv meetings.
