Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it launched ballistic missiles at a base used by U.S. forces in Jordan and attacked 10 vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
The development followed the U.S. military’s announcement that it had destroyed five Iranian oil tankers on Tuesday.
Iranian state media quoted the IRGC as saying *the missiles targeted a base near Al Azraq in Jordan.”

Jordanian authorities said “its air defences intercepted 18 of the 20 missiles, while the remaining two landed in unpopulated areas. No casualties were reported.”
A U.S. official also said “the Iranian strikes were ineffective and that all American troops in Jordan had been accounted for.”
The IRGC said it attacked 10 vessels, including two U.S. ships and eight oil tankers, as they attempted to pass through what it described as a “prohibited and unsafe” area of the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. military said it destroyed five Iranian oil tankers on Tuesday following attacks by the IRGC on a U.S. Navy warship with ballistic missiles.
The U.S. military said no American personnel were injured.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said “the United States would respond to attempts by Iran to attack U.S. naval vessels.”
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi group said it carried out attacks on several locations in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi authorities said “the attacks wounded 73 people and caused fires at some oil facilities.”
The Houthis said they used drones and missiles to target a Saudi air base in Khamis Mushait and facilities in Abha, Najran and Jazan.
Saudi authorities said women and children were among those injured.
The latest developments come amid continuing military exchanges involving Iran, the United States and their regional partners.
