The Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency (NASEMA), and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), have provided relief supplies to victims of various disasters across three Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state.

The items were distributed to residents in Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon LGAs who were affected by banditry, communal conflicts, land disputes, flood, and fire outbreaks.

The relief materials included food items such as rice, beans, pasta, vegetable oil, and salt, alongside essential household supplies like mats and blankets.

Speaking at the event, NASEMA Director General, Benjamin Akwash, stated that the intervention was designed to ease the hardship faced by affected communities.

He noted that the Nigerian Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, authorised the distribution through NEMA’s North Central Zonal Office as part of its duty to safeguard citizens and enhance public welfare.

“These items serve as succour to lessen the impact of these calamities, commending both President Tinubu and Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule for their commitment to supporting vulnerable citizens”, he said.

He added that allocations had already reached Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon LGAs and urged recipients to make proper use of the materials.
