Everyone coming into our camps must undergo COVID-19 test – NYSC

Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has insisted that everyone aiming to gain entrance into the NYSC camps, whether vaccinated or not, must undergo a compulsory COVID- 19 test, saying only those that tested negative would be admitted for the orientation course.

The NYSC Director, Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, said this during a press briefing in Abuja.

NYSC Director, Press and Public Relations, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi who disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja, added that prospective Corps members will resume orientation courses in batches over a period of five days in order to avoid the crowd during registration.

“Measures put in place by NYSC Management to ensure safe Camp re-opening include an excellent partnership with NCDC (Nigeria Centre for Disease Control) over the last year include; Presence of NCDC surveillance team and State Health Officials on NYSC Camps nationwide,” she said.

Adenike said that fumigation and decontamination of all NYSC camps are carried out before the
commencement of any Orientation Exercise.

The NYSC spokesperson said the TY Danjuma Foundation has donated a total number of 60,000 COVID-19 test kits to the scheme to aid in COVID-19 testing.

The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) donated 72,000 RDT kits.
