APC Council Hails Governor AbdulRazaq’s Exemplary Leadership

By Tunde Akanbi, Ilorin

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has commended Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his leadership, contributions to national development and efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The council, led by its Director-General, Senator Abdulazeez Yari, gave the commendation during a visit to the Governor at the Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin, as part of its nationwide engagement ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Yari said the visit was to appreciate AbdulRazaq’s contributions to the APC and seek his continued support for the party’s success in Kwara State and across the country.

He acknowledged the governor’s role in advising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the campaign council, expressing confidence in continued collaboration as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

“Your Excellency, we are here to pay homage. We know, particularly I personally know, what you are doing to ensure that APC succeeds not only in Kwara but also in Nigeria,” Yari said.

He added that the governor’s concern had been how to ensure the success of the party’s political project.

Yari also commended AbdulRazaq for the reception accorded to the delegation upon its arrival at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, describing it as an exceptional gesture during the council’s nationwide tour.

Responding, AbdulRazaq congratulated members of the council on their appointments, saying their experience and contributions to nation-building reflected the party’s confidence in their capacity to deliver on the assignment.

The Governor expressed confidence in the APC’s position in Kwara, claiming that the party had maintained its dominance since 2019.

He also argued that the reported support of the PDP’s national leader and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for Tinubu’s re-election bid would further strengthen the APC’s position in the state.

AbdulRazaq used the occasion to highlight his administration’s record in infrastructure, education, healthcare and public service, noting that his government had addressed previous challenges involving the payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities.

He also cited the technology-driven KwaraLEARN programme in public basic schools, which he said had helped reduce absenteeism and improve learning outcomes.

On the state’s political future, the Governor expressed confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, describing him as a grassroots politician familiar with the administration’s policies and programmes.

He also highlighted the experience of the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Seun Oguniyi Adato, a serving member of the state assembly.

The delegation included former governors Aminu Bello Masari, Rochas Okorocha, Ali Modu Sheriff, Adamu Aliero, Abubakar Badaru, Ibrahim Shema, Sani Yerima, Danjuma Goje, Abdullahi Ganduje and Olusegun Mimiko.

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and former lawmaker Olubunmi Ette were also part of the team.

The visit featured an engagement with the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, the state APC Chairman, Sunday Fagbemi and other government officials.

The council also paid homage to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, seeking his prayers and blessings for President Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
