The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has vowed to recover its pioneer party secretariat, official vehicles, furniture and files supposedly looted by its former members.

The PDP Publicity Secretary of the Cross River chapter, Mr. Mike Ojisi made this known in a statement after its inaugural executive committee meeting in Calabar, the state capital.

Osiji indicated that the State Working Committee, SWC, also pledged to resist the sale of state assets to cronies of Governor Ben Ayade.

He stated, “we have resolved to explore all legitimate avenues to recover the party secretariat and other properties including the three buses, which the erstwhile chairman, Edim Inok is alleged to have criminally converted to his personal property by changing the ownership details.

“We also agreed to pursue, mobilize and sensitize the citizens of Cross River State to resist any attempt to sell assets to family members and cronies of the current administration.

“The SWC has equally set up a high powered establishment committee to assess the immediate administrative needs and make comprehensive recommendations for the immediate takeoff of party administrators,” he further indicated.

In the statement, Osiji said that the SWC was appreciative of the National Working Committee of the party, Cross River national assembly members, immediate past Caretaker Committee and stakeholders for contributing to the rebirth of the PDP in the state.

He attributed the peaceful and violence-free state congress to the understanding of internal democratic ideals and mechanism of inclusiveness, competence and unity.
