Nigeria has recorded 1598 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of persons who have tested positive in the country to 108,943.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this via its official Twitter handle.
According to the tweet, the 1598 new cases were from 24 states. Lagos reported the highest number of cases with 461 new cases while the nation’s Federal Capital Territory was second with 206 and Jigawa State had the lowest with 1 new case.

The NCDC also twitted that as of 16 January, 108,943 cases had been confirmed, 85,367 cases treated and discharged, while 1,420 deaths were recorded.
