The United States of America has donated a 40-bed mobile hospital to Nigeria to help in the treatment of the rising cases of COVID-19.
The U.S Mission in Nigeria stated this on its official Facebook account.
The U.S Ambassador, Mary Leonard, who commissioned the new Mobile Field Hospital donated by U.S Africa Command (AFRICOM) noted that the move would in Nigeria’s effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
“We are committed to helping Nigeria implement effective health efforts and improve its capacity to safely isolate and treat confirmed COVID-19 cases,” she affirmed.
Nigeria’s Minister of State for Health, Adeleke Olorunnimbe Mamora received the structure on behalf of the Nigerian Government.
The 40-bed, negative pressure Alaska Structures Field Hospital was built in the USA and assembled in Abuja by an all-Nigerian team.
