The Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has inaugurated a juice production company at the Omoluabi Free Trade Zone, Osogbo, the state capital.

Governor Oyetola said the company owned by Collins Crown Limited is a testimony to his administration’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business and eliminate the problems that discourage investors.

According to him, the citing of the juice production company in Osogbo is apt, as the state is economically endowed with great potential for fruits harvest.

“The construction of the industry is one of the positive outcomes of the government’s determination to advance the State’s economy through sustainable Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, and we are poised to harness Osun’s potential in all sectors for maximum socio-economic gains,” the Governor stated.

Employment opportunities
Governor Oyetola explained that the juice company would open employment opportunities for the unemployed saying the government has consequently put in place the right policy frameworks to facilitate hitch-free business experience.

“Following the Economic and Investment Summit we hosted in 2019, we established the Osun Investment and Promotion Agency (OSIPA) to interface with investors.

“Only few days ago, I inaugurated the State Council for the implementation of the National Policy on MSMEs. This is to further support our implementation of relevant policies to support business operations in our State.

“With our reputation as one of the nation’s most peaceful State, the relative stable electricity available here, our ready labour, and the political will to always do what is right, I am proud to say that you are in the right place and you have made the best decision to set up your business here,” Governor Oyetola said.

Free trade zone
The Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerment, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, said the establishment of the juice industry would break the jinx of reviving the moribund free trade zone to maximum capacity.

Dr Olaonipekun pledged the government’ support to ensure the success of the project, saying ”the ministry will continue to provide enabling environment for investments to thrive.”

A notable traditional ruler, the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal commended Governor Oyetola for his commitment to socio-economic and infrastructure development in the state.

He expressed optimism that the juice production company would contribute significantly to the economy.

Responding, the Chairman, Collins Crown Limited, Mr Kola Adeyemo said the company was prepared to ensure successful completion and take-off of the project.
