The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed operational and intelligence assets across the state ahead of the 2026 Eid al-Adha celebrations to ensure adequate security before, during and after the festivities.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the deployment, carried out in collaboration with other security agencies, aimed at preventing hoodlums and criminal elements from taking advantage of the festive season to disrupt public peace.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Kabir Umar Hassan, directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and other operational commanders to intensify security measures within their areas of responsibility.

According to the Command, security personnel have been strategically deployed to protect lives and property, provide security at Eid praying grounds and recreational centres, and ensure adequate protection for VIPs, traditional rulers and political leaders.
The police also said traffic control measures had been strengthened to guarantee free flow of movement around praying grounds, highways and other strategic locations during the celebrations.
The Command added that surveillance operations, intelligence gathering and confidence-building patrols had been intensified across the state, while vulnerable points, including the airport, highways and public places, had been fortified to safeguard residents and visitors arriving in Yola and other parts of the state.
While felicitating with Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious movements and activities to the nearest police station.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a peaceful and crime-free celebration across the state.
