Africa Magic has renewed long-running sitcom ‘My Flatmates’ for a milestone 10th season, extending one of Nigerian television’s most enduring comedy franchises.
Co-created by comedian Bright “Basketmouth” Okpocha and the late filmmaker and director Kayode Peters, the series will continue as a weekday fixture across Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv, where it has held steady viewership since it launched.
The Executive Head of Content and Channels, West Africa at MultiChoice Nigeria, Atinuke Babatunde, said “Reaching 10 seasons is a rare milestone in television and it speaks to the enduring strength of ‘My Flatmates’ within Africa Magic’s comedy lineup.”

Centred on a group of eccentric friends navigating shared accommodation, financial pressure and everyday chaos, ‘My Flatmates’ has become one of Nigerian television’s most recognisable contemporary sitcoms, built on a mix of satire, slapstick and social commentary.
Throughout its run, ‘My Flatmates’ has featured several fan-favourite characters played by actors including Bright “Basketmouth” Okpocha, Steve Onu (Yaw), Buchi, Bethel Njoku (Senator), Wofai Fada and a host of notable Nollywood guest stars. Viewers have followed memorable storylines from Frank’s endless engagement limbo with Mimi to Chief Donatus’ string of dodgy business schemes.

Production on season 10 is currently underway, with no premiere date announced yet.
