The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in tackling crime and enhancing public safety across the council.
The assurance was given on Wednesday by the Vice Chairman of AMAC and Acting Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Yusuf Nadabo, during a meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Kurudu, Abuja.
Nadabo, who is acting in the absence of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, currently on an official visit to the United States, said the council would continue to collaborate with security agencies to protect lives and property.
He warned criminal elements operating within the area council that the administration would not tolerate any form of criminal activity.
According to him, the council remains committed to providing the necessary support to security agencies to strengthen efforts aimed at preventing crime and ensuring offenders are brought to justice.
“We are fully committed to protecting our citizens, and the Area Council will continue to provide the necessary support and resources to the Police and other security agencies to track down, arrest and prosecute anyone threatening the peace of our communities,” he said.
The acting chairman commended members of the Police Community Relations Committee for promoting cooperation between residents and law enforcement agencies, describing community policing as an essential tool in addressing security challenges.
He said stronger collaboration, intelligence sharing and active community participation would enhance efforts to maintain law and order across the area council.
Nadabo reaffirmed AMAC’s commitment to sustaining its partnership with the police and other security agencies to improve security and safeguard residents throughout the municipality.
