The Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful, united and committed to the democratic ideals that promote national development, peace and prosperity.
Dr Soludo made the call in a Democracy Day message to Nigerians, describing the occasion as a celebration of the enduring power of the people’s voice and the collective resolve to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
In a statement signed by her Media Aide, Daniel Ezeigwe, the Anambra First Lady said democracy remains the bedrock of national growth, social inclusion and sustainable development, stressing that meaningful progress is possible when citizens actively participate in governance and leaders remain accountable to the people.

She urged Nigerians to use the occasion to renew their commitment to the values of peace, unity, justice and selfless service, noting that these principles are essential for the continued stability and advancement of the country.
“As we celebrate this important day, let us renew our commitment to the values of peace, unity, justice and selfless service to humanity. These ideals remain critical to the continued growth and stability of our nation,” she emphasised.
Dr Soludo also encouraged young Nigerians to remain optimistic about the country’s future and contribute meaningfully to nation-building through innovation, hard work, responsible citizenship and active civic engagement.
While acknowledging the challenges facing the nation, she expressed confidence in Nigeria’s immense human and natural resources, saying they remain key drivers of transformational growth and development.
The Governor’s wife urged citizens not to lose faith in the country’s potential, emphasizing that every generation has a role to play in building a society where opportunities are accessible to all and where families can thrive in dignity, good health and prosperity.
She further appealed to Nigerians across ethnic, religious and political divides to embrace unity and mutual understanding, noting that national progress can only be sustained through collective responsibility, patriotism and a shared commitment to the common good.
Reaffirming her confidence in the promise of Nigeria, Dr Soludo said the nation would continue to advance towards greater stability, economic growth and social development through responsible leadership and active citizen participation.
“Together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams, a nation where hope thrives, opportunities abound and every citizen has the chance to succeed,” the Governor’s Wife stated.
