The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted screening committees for sitting governors seeking re-election or Senate seats, as well as other governorship aspirants ahead of the party’s forthcoming primaries.
According to a notice issued and signed by the Party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, the committee for sitting governors and Senate aspirants will be chaired by the Party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, while Senator Surajudeen Basiru will serve as Secretary.
The committee also includes notable party leaders such as Ali Bukar Dalori, Barr. Murtala Aliyu Kankia, Sulaiman M. Argungu, Mrs. Mary Alile Idele, Amb. Haruna Ginsau, Barr. Felix Morka, Muazu Bawa Rijau, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu and Chief Victor Giadom, among others.
For all other governorship aspirants, the APC named Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye as Chairman and Barr. Emeka Okafor as Secretary of the screening committee.

Other members include Barr. Idris Shuaibu, Barr. Ibrahim Salawu, Garba Datti Muhammad, Sen. Abubakar Maikafi, Hamma-Adama Ali Kumo, Durosinmi Meseko and Hajia Zainab A. Ibrahim.
The party fixed the screening of incumbent governors and Senate aspirants for Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Plateau State Governor’s Lodge.
Screening for other governorship aspirants is scheduled to hold from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
